FRSC Enhances Traffic Management for First Niger Bridge Closure

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the deployment of personnel to manage traffic due to the impending closure of the First Niger Bridge, a crucial link between Anambra and Delta states. This closure is anticipated to increase traffic on alternative routes, including those leading to the Second Niger Bridge.

The announcement was made by the Sector Commander of FRSC RS5.3 Anambra, Corps Commander Bridget Asekhauno, following a road audit conducted on September 5. The audit involved collaboration with the Sector Head of Operations, the Controller of the Federal Ministry of Works in Anambra State, Engr. Emenike Timothy, and other stakeholders.

Motorists are advised to utilize alternative routes such as Nkpor–Old Road–Obosi, Onitsha–Owerri Road from Upper Iweka, and Atani Road through Uga Junction to Harbour Industrial Layout. Asekhauno emphasized the importance of traffic management during this period and urged motorists to adhere to traffic regulations and cooperate with deployed personnel.
