FRSC Advances Smart Transport Agenda After Crash Tragedy

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) mourns the loss of 32 individuals in recent road crashes and is intensifying efforts to reduce traffic fatalities through its Smart Transport Agenda. On June 15, 2026, a high-level delegation led by Corp Marshal Shehu Mohammed and including Speaker of the House of Representatives Abba Tajuddeen visited Cairo, Egypt.

This visit was part of the implementation of the Smart Nation Transport Databank project, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT) and the Arab Asian Investment (AAI). The project aims to establish an integrated national transport database capable of generating reliable real-time information to support transport planning, infrastructure development, and road safety administration.

The initiative is a significant step in the federal government's drive to modernize Nigeria's transport system.
