NAJA Auto Summit to Boost Nigeria's EV and CNG Rollout

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), and Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) are set to convene at the NAJA Auto Summit, scheduled for July 30, 2026, at the Radisson Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos. The summit aims to strategize on the safe rollout of electric vehicles (EV) and compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles in Nigeria.

Key figures, including FRSC Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed and NADDC Director General Joseph Osanipin, will present frameworks for vehicle safety and standards. Discussions will focus on critical issues such as vehicle certification, roadworthiness standards, and emergency response protocols.

The summit will also address the need for public enlightenment on alternative fuel vehicles. SON's Dr.

Ifeanyi Chukwunonso Okeke will discuss the development of national standards for EV charging infrastructure. The event is expected to serve as a strategic platform for reviewing Nigeria's progress in clean mobility under the Bola Tinubu administration.
