FRSC and NIMC Collaborate for Enhanced Road Safety

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has partnered with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to bolster national security and road safety through enhanced data integration and identification systems. This collaboration was formalized during a high-level meeting in Abuja, attended by FRSC Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed and NIMC Director General Adesoy Coker.

The partnership emphasizes the mandatory requirement for the National Identification Number (NIN) in vehicle registration and driver’s license issuance. The FRSC aims to improve traceability and strengthen national security architecture through robust data harmonization among government agencies.

The strategic engagement highlighted the urgent need for credible identity management to support law enforcement and crash reduction strategies. NIMC's commitment to expanding Nigeria's identity database and deepening the NIN ecosystem was noted, with an emphasis on enhancing data accuracy and operational efficiency.
