FRSC Reports Zero Road Crashes in Special Operation

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Zone RS10, conducted a three-day special enforcement operation, codenamed “Operation Daidaita Lodi,” from July 20 to 22, resulting in zero road traffic crashes across Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara states. This initiative was part of a nationwide directive by Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed to combat overloading and mixed loading, significant contributors to road traffic incidents.

A total of 1,520 personnel were deployed to enhance compliance with traffic regulations and public safety. During the operation, 399 motorists were booked for various traffic offences, with 294 linked to priority violations associated with road crashes.

Assistant Corps Marshal Shoba B. Akande, the Zonal Commanding Officer, praised the operation's success, attributing it to the professionalism of FRSC personnel.

He warned against the dangers of overloading and mixed loading, emphasizing that such practices pose serious risks. Despite the success, security challenges limited operational coverage in some areas.

The FRSC remains committed to ongoing patrols and public awareness efforts to ensure safer highways.
