FRSC Recovers Stolen Hyundai Vehicle in Abuja

On September 1, 2026, at approximately 2:00 a.m., the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) recovered a stolen red Hyundai vehicle, registration number YAB 789 AM, in Abuja. The vehicle was located by a tow truck team from the FRSC RS7.1 FCT Sector Command at Wuye, along the expressway leading to Area 1.

A document found inside the vehicle facilitated the tracing and contacting of the vehicle’s owner. Following the recovery, the FCT Sector Commander, Corps Commander Tijjani Iliyasu, initiated inter-agency collaboration by inviting the Federal Capital Territory Police Command to take custody of the vehicle for further investigation.

The vehicle was formally handed over by Deputy Corps Commander (Operations) DCC Sabitu Abdu to CSP Nimyel Ponfa, Divisional Police Officer of Wuse Division. FRSC Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed stated that the recovery underscores the importance of technology and collaboration in protecting lives and property on Nigerian roads, emphasizing the Corps’ commitment to enhancing vehicle identification and security operations.
