Fubara Supports Tinubu's Re-election Amid Regional Challenges

On Saturday, Rivers State Governor Fubara publicly endorsed President Tinubu’s re-election, stating that it is "not ideal to change the goalpost mid-game." He made this declaration during an open meeting with the Southern Traditional Rulers Council in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Fubara emphasized the need for sustained support to maintain Nigeria's stability and to consolidate ongoing reforms.

He acknowledged the economic challenges faced by the government and cited improvements in economic recovery and infrastructure development, particularly the ongoing coastal road project, as indicators of progress. Fubara urged political leaders and traditional institutions to strengthen collaboration in pursuit of shared development goals, stressing that unity is essential for peace and economic growth across the southern region.

He also noted that the meeting attracted prominent traditional rulers from the South-South, South-East, and South-West geopolitical zones, underscoring the importance of collective dialogue to address regional challenges.
