Fubara Supports NAF to Enhance River State Security

On Thursday, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of River State reaffirmed his administration's support for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) during a courtesy visit from Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Sundai Kelvin Anek at the Government House in Port Harcourt. Fubara highlighted the importance of collaboration between the state government and NAF to combat insecurity, particularly issues related to pipeline vandalism and illegal oil bunkering.

He recalled the successful partnership with NAF, which included the provision of air transport during the rehabilitation of the international airport. The governor announced the donation of an AW139 helicopter to NAF and discussed plans to upgrade the runway at the NAF base to enhance security operations.

Air Marshal Anek commended the state government for its support and proposed further collaboration, including the management of a mother-child hospital and primary school within the NAF base. He urged the state to adopt modern surveillance systems to effectively combat oil theft and criminal activities.
