Tinubu Chairs 2027 Presidential Campaign Council

The Presidency announced the formation of the Presidential Campaign Council for the upcoming 2027 general elections, scheduled for January 2027, as per the Independent National Electoral Commission's timetable. President Bola Tinubu will serve as Chairman, with Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda as Vice Chairmen.

Abdulaziz Yari, the former Governor of Zamfara State and current Senator for Zamfara West, has been appointed as the Director-General of the campaign. Hope Uzodinma, the Governor of Imo State, will act as Secretary.

Other notable appointments include Ajibola Bashiru as Deputy Secretary and Hadiza Bala-Usman as Assistant Secretary. The council will also feature a body of advisers, including prominent political figures such as Chief Bisi Akande and Senator Rochas Okorocha.

Key roles have been assigned to various senators and governors, with specific responsibilities for mobilization, administration, and election planning. The campaign's media and strategic communication will be coordinated by the Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris Malagi.
