According to the latest Numbeo Crime Index for 2026, the most dangerous countries in the world are ranked based on perceived crime levels. Papua New Guinea tops the list, primarily due to widespread violent crime, particularly in urban areas, exacerbated by gang activity, unemployment, and corruption.
