FUNAAB Students Demand Clarity on Abducted Corps Members

The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has demanded clarity on the reported rescue of National Youth Service Corps members abducted in Kogi State. In a statement shared on X on Monday, the SUG expressed concerns over conflicting reports regarding the status of the victims, particularly affecting their families.

The Kogi State Police Command reported that 11 victims were rescued, but families of some victims remain uncertain about their loved ones' status. The SUG identified one of the affected corps members as Adedolapo, a FUNAAB graduate.

They called for verifiable information regarding the rescued individuals, including their names and confirmation of their safe return. Additionally, reports indicated that kidnappers demanded N20 million for each victim still in captivity.

Chidinma, the sister of one abducted corps member, appealed for government intervention, stating that her family could not afford the ransom and was still mourning a recent loss.
