OAU Partners with AMIR Fund to Boost Biomedical Research

FirstBank Trustees and AMIR Fund signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) to establish a fund supporting biomedical research in molecular biology and oncology. The fund will aid Professor Adebayo Shittu's research in the Department of Microbiology and provide annual postgraduate research fellowships for master's and doctoral students focusing on molecular biology and oncology.

AMIR Fund's founder, Ridwan Sorunke, highlighted the fund's aim to enhance local scientific research financing and nurture bright minds in Nigeria. The initiative is designed to create a sustainable framework for scientific research at OAU and beyond.
