FUTA Suspends MBBS Admission for 2026/2027 Academic Session

The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) has announced the suspension of admissions into its Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program for the 2026/2027 academic session. In a statement issued by the Registrar, C.

O. Adeleye, the university disclosed that this suspension affects categories of applicants, including direct entry candidates.

Candidates who had selected FUTA as their institution of choice for the MBBS program during the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and registration conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board are advised to seek admission in alternative institutions for the 2026/2027 academic session. The university did not provide a reason for the suspension of admissions into the program.
