FutureMap Foundation Empowers African Youths in Tech

FutureMap Foundation, under the leadership of Executive Director Dr. Shuaib Sani Shuaib, is dedicated to equipping young Africans with digital skills and career opportunities through its flagship Future Tech Fellowship (FTF).

At a Digital Innovation Workshop in Jigawa State, Dr. Shuaib emphasized the Foundation's mission to bridge the gap between academic training and employment.

He noted that many graduates struggle to find jobs due to a lack of mentorship and practical experience. The FTF aims to nurture talent and create pathways to employment and entrepreneurship.

Success stories include Ibrahim and Nasir from Sule Lamido University, who developed an IoT solution for fish farmers and have since advanced in their careers, with one working in a leading bank and the other pursuing a Master’s in the UK. The Fellowship has attracted over 3,000 applicants, with only three percent selected, and has produced significant career outcomes, with 40 percent of alumni securing internships or jobs through strategic partnerships.
