G100 Group Aims for Unified Candidate Against Tinubu

Lukman, who is currently a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), clarified that he has not resigned but suspended his membership. He emphasized the importance of presenting viable alternatives in Nigerian democracy and criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) for straying from its mission.

Lukman, a former national vice chairman of the APC, noted that the party's focus has shifted to supporting the president, undermining opposition parties like the PDP, Labour Party, and NNPP. He highlighted a coalition effort initiated in April in Ibadan, where opposition leaders aimed to work together to select a common candidate against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

However, following the departure of Peter Obi and Kwankwaso from the ADC shortly after the coalition's formation, the initiative faced challenges, leading to a fragmented opposition. Lukman stressed the necessity of collaboration to defeat the APC and implement a clear program post-election.
