Benn noted that Garcia has previously failed in two attempts to secure a fight and is currently inactive, which led to Benn agreeing to fight instead.

Benn, who has served a doping ban and spent time in rivalry with Chris Eubank Jr., is preparing to return to the welterweight division. He mentioned that Garcia is scheduled to face a mandatory opponent in September, which could be a risky situation for him.
