Gbajabiamila Threatens ₦10 Billion Suit Against Adeyemi

On July 6, 2026, Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, issued a 72-hour cease and desist letter to Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, demanding the retraction of allegedly false and malicious statements made during a press conference on June 25, 2026. Gbajabiamila's solicitor, Kemi Pinheiro, OFR, SAN, accused Adeyemi of launching a reckless and baseless attack aimed at tarnishing Gbajabiamila's reputation.

The letter detailed serious claims made by Adeyemi, including allegations of Gbajabiamila demanding 48 percent off a grant and engaging in corrupt practices. The letter stated that these defamatory statements have caused significant reputational damage to Gbajabiamila, who is a former Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Gbajabiamila's team demanded that Adeyemi cease further defamatory statements, remove related material from all platforms, and issue a full retraction and apology published in at least five national newspapers. Failure to comply would result in immediate legal action, including a ₦10 billion civil suit.
