GCIOBA and ipNX Launch Digital Initiative for GCI Students

The Government College Ibadan Old Boys Association (GCIOBA) and ipNX Nigeria Limited have collaborated to implement a digital connectivity project at Government College Ibadan (GCI), which will provide high-quality broadband internet access to over 2,250 students and staff. This initiative, led by the GCIOBA North America branch and executed under ipNX’s corporate social responsibility strategy, includes the deployment of a campus-wide fibre backbone connecting 29 buildings and enterprise-grade wireless connectivity within each building.

The project aims to enhance digital learning, teaching, and access to educational resources, creating a resilient digital ecosystem for effective school administration. Olawale Babalakin, President of GCIOBA, emphasized the importance of preparing students for a digital economy, while Ejovi Aror, Group Managing Director of ipNX, described the initiative as a foundational investment in modern education.

The project was announced during the 2026 GCIOBA Lagos branch annual luncheon, which also honored two distinguished alumni with posthumous merit awards.
