Oba Adebayo Commends Oyebanji for Polytechnic Upgrade

Oba Joseph Adebayo, the Owa Ajero of Ijero Kingdom, praised Governor Biodun Oyebanji for the upgrade of the College of Technology, Ijero, to a polytechnic during a press conference at his palace in Ijero-Ekiti on Saturday. He highlighted the upgrade as a significant step towards enhancing access to higher education for young people in Ijero and surrounding areas.

Adebayo called for sustained government support to improve education and infrastructure, stating that quality education is essential for community development. He acknowledged the state government's efforts to enhance schools in Ijero and urged for adequate resources for effective teaching and learning.

Additionally, he commended Oyebanji for providing a transformer to the community and appealed to the Benin Electricity Distribution Company for proper connection and operation. Adebayo also recognized Senator Opeyemi Bamidele for his contributions to Ekiti's development and expressed concerns about project quality by contractors.

He emphasized the need for community involvement in government projects and declared the 2026 Itajero Festival open, celebrating Ijero's culture and history.
