Ghana Police Arrest Man for Firing Live Rounds During Asake's Accra Visit

The Ghana Police arrested a man, identified as Abubakari Sadick, for firing live rounds during Nigerian artist Asake's street celebration in Accra's New Town on December 28, 2025. The suspect was captured in a viral video pleading with President John Dramani Mahama for his actions.

Asake's post-festival street tour drew a large crowd, with the suspect firing a rifle into the air multiple times. The Ghana Police CID Cyber Vet Team swiftly arrested the suspect and retrieved the registered Derya MK 12 rifle.
