Nigerian Institute of Management Calls for Enhanced Practices

The Nigerian Institute of Management, led by President and Chairman of the Council Abimbola Ayuba, has issued a call for intensified planning within the management profession to help organizations navigate economic shocks. This announcement comes ahead of the institute's 65th anniversary, during which it will unveil a new anniversary logo.

Ayuba highlighted that the increasing interconnectivity of the global economy necessitates that businesses no longer operate in isolation. He cited the current volatility characterized by rising fuel prices and operational costs, with specific reference to tensions around the Strait of Hormuz affecting global supply chains.

The institute noted that these disruptions could significantly extend shipping timelines, thereby increasing transport costs. To address these challenges, the institute aims to equip its members with the tools to monitor global trends and develop risk mitigation strategies.

As part of its anniversary celebrations, the institute will host a colloquium in August 2026 to discuss strengthening governance and economic evolution in Nigeria.
