Gombe State Strengthens Agricultural Ties with FCDO, Propcom

On a recent date, Gombe State Governor Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya received a delegation from the Foreign Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO) and Propcom at the Government House. The meeting focused on sustaining agricultural partnerships to accelerate development, improve livelihoods, and strengthen the economy of Gombe State.

The delegation, led by Mr. Archi Stai, Food and Agriculture Advisor at FCDO, included Mr.

Valentin Udida, Senior Programme Manager at FCDO, Dr. Adiya Od, Country Representative for Propcom, and Dr.

Olumid Ojo, Strategic Director at Propcom. Governor Yahaya expressed optimism about the partnership's potential to deliver meaningful impacts, particularly in agricultural productivity, climate adaptation, and rural economic empowerment.

He emphasized the administration's prioritization of agriculture as a major driver of economic growth and employment. The governor commended the ongoing support from FCDO and Propcom, particularly in reform interventions aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable communities.

The meeting also included discussions on the approval of state agro-industrial policies, which await official launch.
