Gombe Governor Yahaya Warns Commissioners Against Corruption

On Saturday, Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Yahaya addressed newly inaugurated commissioners during their swearing-in ceremony, warning them against corruption and misuse of public resources. He stated that the administration would not tolerate any acts that could tarnish its image as it enters the final year of its term.

Yahaya emphasized that the funds belong to the government and should benefit the people, not individuals or groups. He urged the appointees to justify the confidence placed in them by delivering quality governance and implementing government policies effectively.

The governor praised the Gombe State House of Assembly for swiftly confirming the commissioners and highlighted the importance of a strong relationship between the executive and legislative branches. He also reminded the permanent secretary of their crucial role in maintaining government operations during the transition period and urged the new appointees to provide strategic, evidence-based recommendations to enhance governance.
