Gombe SSG Ibrahim Njodi Warns Against Civil Servant Absenteeism

Ibrahim Njodi, the Secretary to the Gombe State Government, issued a warning to civil servants regarding absenteeism during his visit to the Gombe State Liaison Office in Kaduna. He stated that the administration of Governor Muhammadu Yahaya would not tolerate indiscipline among civil servants.

This warning was given on a Monday as Njodi interacted with staff and inspected the office facilities, coinciding with the annual general meeting of the New Nigerian Development Company in Kaduna. He described the laxity towards official duties as unacceptable, stressing that public servants must justify their salaries with productivity.

Njodi reiterated the state government's zero-tolerance policy for indiscipline, particularly concerning absenteeism, which he labeled a flagrant abuse of civil service rules. He directed staff to submit individual job descriptions to ensure accountability and efficiency.

Additionally, he appealed to the state government to renovate the liaison office to improve working conditions.
