Google Receives U.S. Approval for $32B Wiz Acquisition

Google has obtained clearance from the U.S. Department of Justice to proceed with its $32 billion acquisition of cloud security startup Wiz.

The deal, announced in July 2025, is one of the largest cybersecurity acquisitions in history. Wiz, founded in 2020 by former Microsoft engineers, is known for its rapid growth in the cloud security sector.

The acquisition will enable Google Cloud to enhance its cybersecurity portfolio and strengthen its position as a leading enterprise cloud provider, intensifying competition with Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.
