Gov. Bago Receives 100 Rescued Schoolchildren in Niger State After Bandit Kidnapping

Governor Bago of Niger State formally received 100 schoolchildren who were recently rescued by security forces from bandits at St. Maria Catholic School in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area.

The pupils were kidnapped and held captive for 17 days before being rescued. The children were conveyed in separate buses to the Niger State Government House.

The incident occurred when bandits attacked the school dormitory, resulting in the abduction of 265 individuals, including 253 children and 12 teachers. The rescue brought immense relief to parents and the freed pupils.
