Enugu Governor to Establish Tax Review Committee to Boost Revenue

Enugu State Governor Dr. Peter Mbah has announced the formation of a Multi-stakeholder Review Committee on Taxation to combat revenue leakages and expand the tax base without raising tax rates.

The move aims to improve the state's Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) following the introduction of e-payment technology. Enugu State ranked 5th in IGR in 2023, with Lagos, Rivers, FCT, and Ogun leading the table.

The committee will include market unions, civil society organizations, and relevant groups to ensure a transparent review of the tax system.
