Afenifere Critiques Edo Governor, Warns Peter Obi

Dr. Akin Fapohunda, a chieftain of the pan-Yoruba socio-political group Afenifere, criticized Edo State Governor Mondai Okpebholo during an interview with Symphony TV.

He accused Okpebholo of reflecting the influence of former Governor Adam Oshiomhole, suggesting that his leadership style mirrors the old political structures that dominate the region. Fapohunda described Okpebholo as having a "village mentality," emphasizing that his governance is heavily influenced by powerful political figures.

He warned Peter Obi, the Labour Party's presidential candidate for the 2023 general elections, to be cautious and remain engaged in political activities across the country, as the current political climate is fraught with tension. Fapohunda's remarks highlight the ongoing political dynamics in Nigeria, particularly the influence of established political figures on current leaders.
