Gov. Sule Affirms Right to Endorse Successor Ahead of APC Primaries

Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State delivered a statewide broadcast in Lafia, asserting his constitutional right to endorse a successor as the All Progressives Congress (APC) prepares for its upcoming direct primary elections.

He stated that the decision to adopt direct primaries reflects the choices of critical stakeholders within the party and guarantees fair opportunities for aspirants. Sule emphasized that his endorsement does not undermine the candidacy of others, as he believes the endorsed aspirant possesses the capacity, experience, and vision necessary to build on the state's progress.

He called on APC members to support the party and urged community leaders to maintain peace and restraint as the 2027 electoral process begins. Sule warned against inflammatory statements and misinformation that could disrupt peace, stressing the importance of unity and development for the future of Nasarawa State.

He also advised security agencies to remain vigilant and impartial during the primaries and cautioned youth against being used to foment violence.
