Gwarzo Claims Governor Yusuf Never Handed Over State Affairs

Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, the former Deputy Governor of Kano State and a governorship candidate for the New Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2027 general elections, stated that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf did not formally hand over the affairs of the state during his official trips. Gwarzo emphasized that throughout their time serving together, he was merely informed of the governor's travels, whether local or international, without being assigned any responsibilities to oversee the administration in the governor's absence.

He noted that there was never a time when he was charged with handling state affairs, even during trips that were just a few hours away. Gwarzo's comments have reignited public discussions regarding the nature of the relationship between him and Governor Yusuf, which has reportedly deteriorated due to political differences.

Neither Governor Yusuf nor the Kano State government has publicly responded to Gwarzo's claims.
