Kano Governor Renames Hospital After Mahmud Baffa Yola

On a Monday, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf announced the renaming of the Dawakin Tofa General Hospital to honor the late Mahmud Baffa Yola, an elder statesman recognized for his outstanding contributions to community development in Kano State. This decision was communicated through a statement issued by the governor's spokesman, Sunusi Batur.

Governor Yusuf noted that Mahmud Baffa Yola was a pioneer in introducing adult education in Kano State, which expanded learning opportunities for thousands of citizens. The late statesman also initiated a community fundraising campaign in 1989 that led to the establishment of the hospital in Dawakin Tofa.

Governor Yusuf described Mahmud Baffa Yola as a patriotic leader whose legacy of selfless service continues to inspire generations. He directed the Ministry of Health to mobilize immediately to implement the approved renovations for the hospital to enhance healthcare service delivery for the people of Dawakin Tofa and surrounding areas.
