Governor Yusuf Forms Panel to Investigate Student's Death

Governor Yusuf has set up a panel to investigate the death of college student Maimuna Sani Salisu. This decision follows a formal petition submitted by her mother, Mr.

Nusaiba Rabi U Dan Sheriff, regarding the circumstances surrounding her daughter's death. The committee, chaired by Alhaji Ali Haruna Makoda, is mandated to conduct a comprehensive independent investigation.

The investigation will establish a clear timeline of events, identify lapses in the supervision of student welfare, and review institutional procedures. The terms of reference for the committee include examining events leading to the incident, reviewing relevant medical records, and assessing the social environment within the school.

Additionally, the panel will evaluate allegations of bullying, coercion, and unauthorized disciplinary practices among students. Governor Yusuf reiterated his administration's commitment to uncovering the truth surrounding this incident and ensuring necessary steps are taken to prevent recurrence.

The committee is expected to submit its findings and recommendations to the state government within a stipulated timeframe.
