Kano Governor Yusuf Launches Probe into Student's Death

Kano State Governor Yusuf has set up an investigative committee to probe the circumstances surrounding the death of a student from St. Louis College.

The committee, chaired by Alhaji Ali Haruna Makoda, includes members such as Barr Aminu Hussain and Barr Hamza Dantani. The committee's mandate is to conduct a thorough independent investigation, establish a clear timeline of events, identify lapses in supervision, and review relevant medical records.

It will also assess allegations of bullying, coercion, and unauthorized disciplinary practices among students. The panel is expected to evaluate existing complaint mechanisms and recommend reforms to improve student safety and emergency medical response procedures in schools across Kano State.

Governor Yusuf directed the committee to carry out its assignment with fairness and diligence, emphasizing the need for justice and lessons learned to prevent future occurrences. The committee is expected to submit its findings and recommendations to the Kano State Government within a stipulated timeframe.
