Zulum Donates N200M to National Orthopaedic Hospital

On Saturday, October 14, 2023, Governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State announced an additional donation of N200 million to the National Orthopaedic Hospital in Azare, increasing the state's total contributions to N400 million. The hospital, which commenced full clinic services six months ago, has attended to 4,000 patients and successfully performed 300 major orthopedic surgeries, including hip and knee replacements and spinal surgeries.

During an inspection visit to the Federal Health Institute, Zulum praised the hospital's achievements and expressed commitment to further support the institution. He noted that despite being established primarily for orthopedic services, the hospital has expanded to include obstetric, gynecological, and pediatric healthcare services.

Zulum acknowledged the leadership of Dr. Ramat and the management team, emphasizing the need for collective commitment to healthcare development in Nigeria.

The hospital, approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has made significant progress despite not receiving federal overhead funding.
