Tinubu Urges Unity at Security Conference in Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu, represented by Deputy President of the Senate Barau Jibrin, addressed the International Conference on Security and National Unity on Tuesday, organized by Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah in collaboration with the Muslim World League. He called on Nigerians to preserve the country's unity despite differences, emphasizing that dialogue is essential for maintaining national cohesion.

Tinubu stated that the government is committed to addressing Nigeria's security challenges and promoting global peace through international collaboration. He praised the Muslim World League for selecting Nigeria as the first host for the conference.

Additionally, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, cautioned political leaders against exploiting religious and ethnic divisions for political gain, highlighting that such actions could cause lasting damage to the nation. Yilwatda shared his personal experience as a displaced person during the Bauchi crisis, stressing that violence affects all, regardless of faith, and urged religious leaders to promote peace and reconciliation.
