Kano Government Targets 10,000 Youths in Drug Abuse Fight

The Kano state government is set to remove 10,000 youths from the streets over the next year as part of its initiative to combat drug abuse. Muhyi Magaji Rimingado, the chairman of the Multi Agency Taskforce on Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, announced this plan while addressing newsmen in Kano.

He detailed that the government will focus on clamping down on identified points within communities to facilitate the rehabilitation of these youths. The initiative aims to provide career guidance and reintegrate the youths into society.

Rimingado also mentioned that the plan will involve collaboration with the state’s correctional centers and will be executed in clusters to ensure effective implementation.
