Governor Adeleke's Son Survives Assassination Attempt

On April 30, 2026, Adebayo Adeleke's son narrowly escaped an assassination attempt in Osogbo, Osun State. The incident occurred around 3:30 PM near Okefia, close to the Osun State Government House.

Eyewitnesses reported that a group of hoodlums, allegedly led by a man identified as Asiri Eniba, attempted to intercept the governor's son's vehicle. The situation escalated quickly, creating panic among residents and road users.

The governor's son, referred to as "B Red," noticed unusual movements around his vehicle while driving near Alekuwodo Market and subsequently engaged in a chase with the assailants, who were on motorcycles and in a white Toyota Venza. The Osun State Government condemned the attack, describing it as a serious threat to peace and order.

Kolapo Alimi, the state's commissioner for information, emphasized the need for urgent action and called on security agencies to intensify efforts to track down the suspects. As of the report, no official police statement regarding arrests had been made.
