Niger State Governor Issues 300 Land Certificates in 3 Months

Governor Moham Umaru Bago of Niger State has issued 300 Certificates of Occupancy (Cs of O) within three months, as reported by Commissioner Barrister Bello Ahmadu Agwara during a press conference in Minna. This initiative is part of the governor's commitment to enhance land administration in the state.

Agwara emphasized that the government will no longer tolerate illegal activities related to private land development and that no private development or sale of land will occur without obtaining the relevant government approval. The Niger State Ministry of Land Survey has adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards land grabbing and speculation.

Consequently, the administration has commenced the outright revocation of undeveloped plots that were issued six to seven years ago, particularly affecting plots located in Suleja and Tafa. The government is implementing enforcement mechanisms to curb illegal development and has mandated that all mining operations within the state must obtain permits from the state government, as the land belongs to the state and not the federal government.
