Governor Makinde Visits Rescued Pupils and Teachers

Governor Makinde visited the rescued Oriire pupils and teachers who are currently receiving treatment in a hospital in Ibadan. He expressed satisfaction with their condition, noting that they remain stable but physically weak and require additional medical and psychological care.

Governor Makinde disclosed that arrangements have been made to enable family members to reunite with the victims as part of the post-traumatic recovery process designed to help them recover from their ordeal. He commended the Nigerian Army and security agencies for their professional commitment and coordinated efforts that led to the successful rescue of the victims.

The governor assured that further updates regarding the operation would be provided daily and emphasized the need for the residents of Oyo State to recognize that security challenges are not unique to the state. He called for unity among citizens to collectively address such threats, urging them to set aside political and ethnic differences whenever security challenges arise.
