Katsina Governor's Wife Advocates for WEE Policy Domestication

Hajiya Zulaihat Dikko Radda, the wife of Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, called for the domestication of the Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) policy to ensure women in the state can benefit from economic opportunities. She made this statement during a delegation visit to the governor's residence in Katsina.

While acknowledging the proactive steps taken by the state government towards the WEE policy, she emphasized the urgent need to complete the domestication process to fully integrate it into the state’s planning and budget implementation framework. Hajiya Radda advocated for adequate budgetary allocations to prevent and protect survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) across the 34 local government areas of the state.

She urged the governor to prioritize GBV prevention as a public safety issue and to support community-led approaches to transform social norms. Additionally, she demanded stronger enforcement of existing laws, particularly those related to violence against persons and child rights.
