Katsina Governor Commits to Zero Tolerance for Abuse

During a visit from the Nigerian Governors' Spouses Forum (NGSF) on Saturday, Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State committed to a zero-tolerance policy towards gender and child abuse. Hajiya Zulaihat Radda, the governor's wife and leader of the NGSF delegation, emphasized the importance of implementing policies that promote the safety and dignity of women and children.

The governor stressed that his administration would not tolerate any form of abuse or discrimination against these vulnerable groups. He pledged to sustain collaboration with relevant stakeholders to strengthen support mechanisms for victims of gender-based violence (GBV).

Radda commended the NGSF for championing advocacy programs aimed at protecting vulnerable groups and highlighted the need for public awareness to reduce violence and foster safer communities. She urged communities to break the cultural silence surrounding abuse and to report cases promptly.

The visit was part of a nationwide campaign to raise awareness about the dangers of GBV and mobilize support for the protection of women and children.
