Anambra Government Finalizes Compensation for Power Project

The Anambra State Government, under the leadership of Governor Charles Soludo, is finalizing a compensation framework for property owners whose buildings and lands will be impacted by the proposed 132kV electricity transmission line project. Barrister Chijiok Ojukwu disclosed this information during a briefing with journalists, emphasizing the government's commitment to ensuring a transparent and fair compensation process.

The transmission line, initiated by the Federal Government and the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), will connect Nnobi, Awka, Etiti, and Nnewi communities, enhancing electricity supply and supporting economic growth across the state. Ojukwu stated that the government has completed identifying and marking the right of way and will soon invite affected property owners to verify their claims and explain the compensation process, which includes collecting relevant documents.

The project is expected to significantly improve power supply and stimulate industrial activity, reinforcing Anambra's position as a major commercial and manufacturing hub.
