Group Defends AIG Jimoh, Demands Justice for Ajiran Victims

A group has come forward to defend Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Moshood Jimoh regarding allegations of corruption linked to the Ajiran killings, labeling these claims as baseless and reckless. The group, led by Isaiah Davi Ijel, issued a statement on Saturday in Abuja, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive review of the investigation into the double murder of Sheriff Ishola Salami and Ademola Akinloy, which occurred on January 7, 2026.

They criticized the influence of social media, particularly a post by Martin Vincent Ots, which labeled AIG Jimoh as corrupt. The group called for a lawful and transparent investigation, urging adherence to legal procedures and warning against misinformation.

They also raised concerns about the conduct of certain police units and the apparent non-compliance with court orders regarding the remand of suspect Ahm Tajudeen Akanbi. The group demanded justice for the victims and accountability for all involved, regardless of influence.
