Youth Group Defends AIG Olohundare Against Misinformation

The South West Youth Alliance (SWYA) issued a statement condemning a coordinated campaign aimed at undermining Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Jimoh Olohundare and the rule of law in Nigeria. They described the campaign as a calculated effort of misinformation and character assassination, particularly in relation to ongoing murder trials.

The group insisted that senior police officers, including AIG Olohundare, are not corrupt and do not pose a threat to the Nigerian justice system. They highlighted the integrity of the Lagos State Police Command's investigations, particularly concerning Ahm Tajudeen Akanbi, who was arrested in connection with the alleged murder of two individuals.

The SWYA noted that the police investigations were based on credible evidence, including confessions from suspects, and criticized the social media narratives that misrepresent the facts. They reaffirmed the commitment to uphold the rule of law and the integrity of the judicial process.
