Group Demands Accountability from Governors for Failures

The human rights advocacy group Ogun State Great Again, led by Kayod Olawoy, urged Nigerians to hold their state governors accountable for development failures rather than blaming the federal government. Speaking at an event in Ogba Iyo Area, Sango, Ogun State, Olawoy highlighted the significant power governors possess to drive grassroots development.

He criticized the tendency of Nigerians to overlook the responsibilities of state governors, especially when faced with issues like poor road conditions and economic downturns. Olawoy stressed the importance of citizens making informed choices in the upcoming 2027 elections and emphasized that the current governors have received substantial allocations yet have shown little progress in development.

The event included participation from various civil society organizations and religious groups, with calls for citizens to actively demand their rights and engage in the democratic process.
