ADC Supporters Protest Against Candidate Replacement Plot

On Wednesday, supporters of Amb. Omar Sulaiman, the gubernatorial candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State, protested against attempts to replace him ahead of the 2027 elections.

The protest, organized by the ADC Christians Forum, saw a large turnout in Yola, where demonstrators carried placards expressing solidarity with Sulaiman. Modu Umar, speaking on behalf of the protesters, accused Barrister Sadiq Dasin, the acting state party chairman, and other officials of accepting money from the ruling party to destabilize the ADC.

The protesters warned that any attempt to replace Sulaiman, who was elected during valid primaries, would lead to disaster for the party. They urged Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential candidate and former vice president, to intervene urgently to protect the party's interests in the state.
