ADC Candidate Omar Urges Atiku to Withdraw Substitution

Alhaji Suleiman Omar, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate for Adamawa State, publicly addressed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, requesting him to stay away from the party's activities in the state. This demand arose after reports indicated that Omar's name had been replaced by Alhaji Tukur Modibbo as the ADC candidate for the 2027 governorship election.

Omar, speaking at a press conference in Yola, firmly rejected the substitution, asserting that he is the legitimate candidate after winning the primary supervised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He expressed shock at Atiku's alleged presentation of Modibbo as the party's candidate, emphasizing the seriousness of the matter due to Atiku's political stature.

Omar called for Atiku to withdraw his statement and respect the legal processes initiated regarding the dispute, highlighting the importance of due process and the mandate given by party members.
