ADC Faces Crisis Over Governorship Candidate Rumors

Suleiman Adamu Jimeta, a founding member and loyalist of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State, has dismissed rumors that the party has replaced its governorship candidate, Omar Suleiman, with Alhaji Tukur Modibbo. Jimeta described these reports as false and potentially damaging to the party's future.

He stated that the alleged replacement would cause widespread dissatisfaction among party supporters and could lead to a crisis ahead of the 2027 governorship election. The rumors included claims of support from party chieftain Musa Halilu OFR, who reportedly praised Modibbo as a better choice.

However, Jimeta insisted that Omar Suleiman remains the legitimate candidate, having worked diligently to gain the confidence of ADC members. He warned that replacing Suleiman would betray loyal supporters and could weaken the party's chances in the upcoming elections.

Jimeta called for party leaders to clarify the situation to maintain unity and fairness within the ADC.
