Mariam Hamzat Appointed Special Adviser on Global Development

Mariam Hamzat has been appointed as a special adviser on global development for the Corper Journei Advocaci Network (CJAN), effective June 29, 2026. This strategic move aims to enhance CJAN's efforts in youth development and sustainable international partnerships.

Amb Taiwo Ajayi, founder and lead strategist of CJAN, emphasized Hamzat's academic accomplishments and research expertise, which will add significant value to the organization's mission of creating opportunities for young Nigerians. Hamzat is currently pursuing a PhD in marine environmental science at Northeastern University, focusing on improving resilience in agricultural food systems.

She holds a bachelor's degree in environmental biology from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Nigeria. Beyond academia, Hamzat is recognized as an environmental journalist and sustainability advocate, committed to amplifying community voices in climate development discussions.

Her advisory role will involve providing strategic guidance on international partnerships and resource mobilization to empower youth and promote sustainable development initiatives.
