Gunmen Abduct Imam's Relatives in Bauchi State Attack

On February 14, 2026, at approximately 10:30 PM, unidentified gunmen abducted four female relatives of Imam Abubakar Muhammad Digar, the chief imam of Jamaatu Izalatul Bidiah Wa Ikamatu Sunnah, in Digar Town, Alkaleri Local Government Area, Bauchi State. The incident occurred when the assailants stormed the town, firing sporadically and invading the imam's residence.

The imam narrowly escaped the attack as the gunmen gained access to his home. Bauchi State Police Command's public relations officer, SP Nafiu Habib, confirmed the incident, stating that the police received a report regarding the kidnapping at 9:41 AM on February 15, 2026.

The report detailed that the gunmen abducted four female family members: Rukayya Junaidu (19), Nafisa Zubairu (19), Safiya Imam Lata (18), and Maryam Dadalliya (30). Additionally, the assailants stole two black Tecno phones during the incident.
